DAY 1: Today you depart the United States on your overnight flight to Athens, Greece. Meals will be served and optional inflight entertainment will be offered. Please consult your flight schedule for pertinent details.

DAY 2: Upon arrival in Athens, you will transfer to your hotel for check-in procedures. The remainder of the afternoon and evening will offer an opportunity to begin your exploration of this 3,500-year-old city. The early evening is a wonderful time to visit the Acropolis, also known as the "Sacred Rock" of Athens, one of the most recognizable monuments in the world.

DAY 3: Depart in the morning for a panoramic city tour and a visit to the National Archeological Museum, which holds treasures from one of the greatest western civilizations. The afternoon will offer a trip to Ancient Agora, the marketplace which formed the political heart of Athens from 600 B.C. The Agora was the heart of the ancient people; therefore, important monuments such as the Temple of Hepaistos, Temple of Apollo Patroos, Altar of the Twelve Gods, The Royal Stoa, and Tholos serve as their living legacy and your unforgettable memories.

DAY 4: Depart in the morning for Corinth, where seven of the original 38 Doric columns stand, making it one of the oldest temples in Greece. From Corinth you go on to Nauplia via Epidaurus, with its magnificent theater. Upon arrival in Nauplia, you will check into your hotel for a two-night stay.

DAY 5: Today is devoted to the exploration of Argolis, Mycenae, Tiryns, and Nauplia. Mycenae is known for its citadel architecture. Tiryn is a 13th Century B.C. citadel that Homer called mighty-walled. Nauplia is the most elegant town in mainland Greece.

DAY 6: Departing in the morning for Olympia, located at the confluence of the Alfeios and Kladeos rivers. Olympia was a religious and athletic center for 2000 years. On your way you will stop at Mantinea. Depending on our time of arrival at Olympia, we will visit the excavation site this evening. This site is the birth place to the original Olympics, which began as a small regional festival in the 11th century, which was dedicated to the God Zeus. The village of Olympia holds the Historical Museum of the Olympic Games, where important events are documented for public view.

DAY 7: Today is devoted to further exploration of Olympia and a visit to the Archeological Museum, one of the richest museums in Greece. In the afternoon, you will take the ferry to the island of Zakynthos for a two-night stay. Zakynthos is the southernmost and third largest in both size and population of the Ionian Islands.

DAY 8: Today will be devoted to exploring the attractive and green island of Zakynthos with your guide. Part of the tour may be by boat. The island features mountain villages, monasteries, and fertile plains. In the north, east, and south numerous picturesque beaches can be found. The western part of the island features imposing, rocky landscape and has a number of sea caves such as the famous Blue Caves on the north-west of the island.

DAY 9: This morning you will take the ferry to the island of Cephalonia, the largest of the Ionian Islands. The day will be devoted to exploring this fascinating island of mountains, beaches, churches, villages, and subterranean caves. The first inhabitants of the island are dated back to 50,000 B.C. You will stay on the island tonight.

DAY 10: Morning departure for the mainland and the road trip to Igoumenitsa. Igoumenitsa is a coastal city located in the nothwestern part of Greece. In ancient times, Igoumenitsa was known as Titani, one of the most important towns of the Kingdom of Thesprotis during the 4th century B.C. It is a picturesque village with lots of green forest and beaches with crystal clear blue waters, and green mountains surrounding the town.

DAY 11: This morning you continue on to Ioannina. On the way you will stop at Dodona with its Oracle of Zeus dating to at least 1,000 B.C. Ioannina is the capital of the Epuris region. You will spend the night in Tsepelovo. This village was a local trade center from the 18th Century onwards. The traditional stone architecture is visible in every building, including the village paths, dwellings, and churches.

DAY 12: Today you will tour Vikos Gorge, carved by the Voidomatis River, from Monodendri to Papingo to Konitsa.This gorge lies on the southern slope of Mount Tymfi and is listed as the deepest gorge in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records. This gorge can be found in the core zone of Vikos-Aoos National Park, in Zagori region. Vikos is also a site a major scientific interest due to its almost undisturbed condition and varied ecosystems.

DAY 13: Morning departure for a half-day rafting trip from Konitsa. In the afternoon/evening you will travel to Kalambaka. You will discover the Meteora monasteries. Kalambaka is considered one of the most beautiful place in Greece.

DAY 14: Today is devoted to the exploration of the Meteora. Originally there were 24 monasteries built on the sandstone towers of the area. Meteora means "soaring rocks." Today there are only six monasteries remaining. These monasteries are built on natural sandstone rock pillars and are located at the northwestern edge of the Palin of Tessaly near the Pineios River and Pindus Mountains, in central Greece. Five of the six remaining monasteries are inhabited by men and one by women.

DAY 15: This morning you depart Kalambaka for Delphi, known as the dwelling place of Apollo from the 8th Century B.C. The Oracle was abolished in 393 A.D. Today you will also hike the Phaedriades, also called the "shining ones." This name was the name of the plateau on which the city of Delphi sat near Mt. Parnassos.

DAY 16: The entire day will be devoted to the exploration of the Delphi site. The archaeological site of Delphi is one of the most important ancient relics of Greece. At the Delphi sanctuary excavations have unearthed settlements that date as far back as the Neolithic era. Many political decisions were taken after consultation of the Oracle. Moreover, the functions of the Oracle of Delphi grew over the centuries to include athletic games and cultural events and Delphi Festivals.

DAY 17: Today, you depart Delphi for Athens. On the way, you will visit either Sounion with its Temple of Poseidon, or Marathon. Plain is the sight of the battle between the Athenians and the Persians. The Athenians were the victors and considered a unique people. Their ability to strive for excellence was the method from which they achieved such phenomenal success.

DAY 18: Morning departure from your hotel from the Athens airport and your flight to the United States, taking with you unforgettable memories of your incredible journey.
