Day 1 -
Depart the United States from your departure city
on your flight to Shannon, Ireland. Naturally,
meals will be served and optional inflight entertainment
will be offered.
Day 2-3 - Upon arrival in Shannon, you will transfer
to the quaint and picturesque town of Killarney.
Situated in a lush area of lakes, mountains
and green countryside, you will enjoy a sightseeing
"walk" of this lovely village. A trip to
Ireland would not be complete without a drive
around the Ring of Kerry. A dramatic drive along
this piece of land jutting out into the Atlantic features
some of the most breathtaking scenery
found anywhere in the world.
Day 4 - You will travel to the
famous Irish landmark called Blarney Castle. Known
as the place where one acquires the gift of eloquence
by kissing the famed Blarney Stone on the castle's
uppermost walls, your visit to Blarney Castle
will certainly prove to be a highlight of your
trip. Your adventure continues as you travel to
Dublin, where you will see such sites as St. Patrick's
Cathedral, O'Connell Street, Trinity College,
Grafton Street and the Dublin Castle*. Later you
will say farewell to Ireland as you depart for
the exciting city of London, England.
Day 5-7 - Awake in London to
Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the changing of the
guard, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey,
Piccadilly Circus, the Tower Bridge and Hyde Park.
These are but a few of the sights awaiting you
in London. The city offers history and pageantry,
museums and theaters, teashops, the British Museum,
and shopping at Harrods and Selfridges. A visit
to the Tower of London*, where you will view the
fabulous Crown Jewels, is a must for all visitors.
In the evening, you may select one of the many
excellent theatrical productions* in the West
End.
Day 8 - Plan a full-day excursion
outside of London to Stratford Upon Avon where
you can see Shakespeare's home and Ann Hathaway's
cottage. Plan a brief stop along the way in the
famous University town of Oxford.
Day 9 - Depart London and travel
by express train to Edinburgh, Scotland. Known
as the "Prince of Cities", Edinburgh offers you
such sightseeing as the Edinburgh Castle*, Charlotte
Square, Princess Street Gardens, St. Giles Cathedral
and the Holyroodhouse*, the celebrated royal palace.
Day 10-11 - After breakfast,
take a walk down The Royal Mile, the Old Town's
famous thoroughfare, and it will introduce you
to such places as the Royal Museum of Scotland*,
the Huntly House and the People's Story*, a history
of Edinburgh life seen through the eyes of its
inhabitants and Camera Obscura* at the top of
the Outlook Tower. One evening, you may enjoy
an optional traditional Scottish dinner banquet.
Day 12 - Depart Europe for the United States, taking
with you treasured memories for a lifetime.
