Day 1 - Today
you depart the United States from your departure
city, on your overnight flight to Berlin. Naturally,
meals will be served and optional inflight entertainment
will be offered.
Day 2 - Upon arrival in Berlin
you will transfer to your hotel. Due to the early
arrival of your flight, your rooms may not be
immediately available for occupancy. Therefore,
your luggage may be stored as you begin your exploration
of this historic city with your guide. This once
divided city shows the reality of the cold war
era contrasting the ultra modern structures of
West Berlin with the less modern structures of
East Berlin.
Day 3 - Morning departure for
your guided panoramic city tour. Among the sights
you may see will be evidence of the famous Berlin
Wall which once divided the city. The remainder
of the day will be devoted to further sightseeing
with your tour leader. Other highlights may include
Kurfurstendamm, KaDeWe, and the Brandenberg Gate.
Day 4 - This is your last day
in Berlin. You have time to shop and take in the
remarkable beauty and history of Berlin.
Day 5 - This morning you depart
your hotel for your trip to Munich. Upon arrival
in Munich you will transfer to your hotel for
check-in.
Day 6 - A morning departure for
your guided panoramic city tour. Some of the sights
you will see are the Old City, the Glockenspiel
chimes, and the Frauenkirche (Cathedral of Our
Lady). The remainder of the day will be devoted
to further sightseeing with your guide. You may
wish to visit the Duetsches Museum (the German
version of our own Smithsonian), or visit Dachau,
the World War II concentration camp.
Day 7 - Morning departure for
an excursion outside of Munich to the magnificent
castles of Linderhof and Neuschwanstein, built
by King Ludwig II.
Day 8 - A morning departure for
Heidelberg. Upon arrival, you will transfer to
your hotel to store your luggage and begin your
exploration of the city with your guide. This
city captures the spirit of Germany as chronicled
by poets and composers of the German Romantic
Movement of the 19th Century.
Day 9 - Today is your last day
in Europe. You may wish to visit Heidelberg Castle
with its Great Vat, a 49,000 gallon wine vat.
Also of interest is the Neckar Bridge. In the
late afternoon or early evening, you will transfer
to your airport hotel in Frankfurt for the night.
Day 10 - Morning departure for
the airport and your return flight to the United
States. Naturally, meals will be served and optional
inflight entertainment will be offered.
